Radio Shack becomes just the “Shack.” Now that I think of it, I never knew why they called it Radio Shack. It has been around for almost eternity, well as far as I can remember. It has 4000 stores. The Love Shack would have been a better name.

Michael Crabtree is still holding out. No worries. The 49ers have a dearth of receivers, so they don’t really need him at the moment. He’ll sign eventually and will make contributions to the team. The news across the Bay is that Darrius Heyward-Bey is struggling at the Raiders training camp dropping balls on ocassion. Hmm, wasn’t that the bad rap on him in the draft. I wonder if Al Davis is having seconds thoughts at the moment. DHB might be all speed, but with hands of stone. My gut feeling is Shawn Hill will win the job at QB position which makes Alex Smith a wasted number one pick overall. The 49ers could have drafted Aaron Rogers, Shawn Merriman or tackle Jammal Brown who recently made the Pro Bowl. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

A new diet is born. Apparently, LenDale White, a NFL running back for the Tennesse Titans lost a total of 30 lbs over the offseason by cutting down on his consumption of Patron. White reported to the Titans training camp at 228 lbs, 30 pounds less than his playing weight last year. 30 pounds? Seems like a lot of Patron, agave, sugar, alcohol and last but not least, money.

Chromatic shares a few excellent tips how to use Twitter effectively. I liked his 3rd point of having separate Twitter accounts for personal and business. Excellent tip. I also got a chuckle at his advise of not twittering in an altered state – under the influence.
